Open Maker Space Time

Our Open Maker Space time is open to COMO Maker Members who are looking to take advantage of our wonderful space. Current students are encouraged to stay after our formal class time ends to work on their projects. 12 weeks long, for currently enrolled Maker Students. 

All week long, Sept. 10- Nov. 26

Photo Restoration

Do you have a stack of older photos that you want to digitize and restore? How about an old black and white that you would like to colorize? If so, our Photo Restoration class is what you need. Topics will cover how to import the photos into the computer, including optimizing scanning settings to make restoration easier; how to "diagnose" a photo to figure out the best approach to repairing it; how to use specific techniques for restoring photos; how to best print out the results; and the best ways to archive the files. Students are encouraged to bring their own damaged photos for evaluation and to experiment on. A basic knowledge of the Windows operating system is required.

Digital Dark Room

Whether you are taking pictures with your smart phone, a point-and-shoot digital camera or a full size DSLR, contemporary novice photographers need to learn image editing techniques and be able to navigate the digital darkroom. This course offers a practical, hands-on foundation in digital workflow, taking an image from camera to computer. Through demonstrations, lectures and guided tutorials, Students will learn fundamental image editing tools such as color corrections, layers, white balance, exposure and other useful skills to perfect your photos. Basic knowledge of the Windows operating system is required as well as a digital camera over 5MPs.
