Beach Passes

duBois Beach 

Located at the tip of beautiful Stonington Village, duBois beach is great family fun, featuring gentle surf, jetties for crabbing, and soft sand.  duBois beach will open for the weekends beginning Memorial Day weekend with lifeguards on duty from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The beach will open full-time, Monday through Sunday, 10:00am – 4:00 pm beginning June 18, 2017 through Labor Day weekend. Parking is free of charge in the public lot adjacent to the beach. 

COMO members with season passes to duBois Beach are required to display their season passes at each visit. duBois beach season passes can be added on to an adult, young professional or family COMO memberships. Daily passes ($10 per person) can be purchased through the beach gatekeeper upon arrival, and new this year - children under 12 are free!

duBois Beach membership holders will also be permitted to bring six (6) guests free of charge during the 2017 beach season (guest passes do not roll over to next season). Should a duBois beach member want to purchase additional guest passes during the 2017 season, they may do so for a discounted rate of $5.00 per person at the beach gate.

ALL COMO members (including Paddle only members and whether or not they hold a duBois beach membership) may ALSO purchase daily beach passes at the $5.00 per person discounted rate. COMO members who do not hold a duBois beach membership must purchase discounted daily passes at the COMO front desk during COMO business hours. Guest passes are required for those 13 and older and must be presented to beach gatekeepers upon arrival to the beach.

Our partnership ensures the necessary amenities for a safe and enjoyable beach experience. Fees support beach maintenance, operations, facilities, supplies, and lifesaving equipment.

Daily Beach Fees:                          $10 per person

Children 12 and under are free and must be accompanied by an adult.

Remember: when you add-on a beach membership, all children 12 and under are FREE! Planning on attending the beach more than 12 times with children under 12? An adult membership with duBois add-on will be your best buy!

Sandy Point Season Passes

Avalonia Land Conservancy negotiated a lease with the US Fish & Wildlife Service in 2015. Since then, the US Fish & Wildlife service has provided oversight and management of this special preserve. Their work to enforce rules and regulations throughout the year ensures the safety of visitors and the incredible wildlife that the island plays home to. 

Looking to purchase duBois beach season passes as well? Add an individual or family COMO and duBois beach membership to receive duBois beach season passes at a 50% discount!  

It is important to note that your receipt AND personal ID serve as proof of payment while on Sandy Point. US Fish & Wildlife officers require that each adult visitor provide both when visiting the island. Passes are nontransferable. All youth ages 17 and under are free. Individual adult season passes are $25.00 each and senior passes are $15.00 each. One day only passes cost $10.00 per person.

Purchase season passes online or at the Stonington Community Center, located at 28 Cutler Street, Stonington CT, Monday-Friday, 9:00 am-5:00 pm. $5.00 optional processing fee is available for those interested in having a laminated wallet size Sandy Point pass mailed to them. Passes are laminated free of charge with COMO membership purchase.

Beach Rules

No dogs—much as we love them!

No grills or alcohol permitted on the beach at any time

Stop at the Gate to make payment or show your season pass at every visit

Comply with the Beach Fee policies

Be kind to our staff

Immediately comply with the Lifeguard’s safety instructions

Do not swim outside of the jetties or past the float

Do not jump off the back of the float

Do not jump off the jetty into the water

Sand is expensive—please don’t take it from the beach

If you bring it in, bring it out—there are no trash containers

Do not enter the private residence property

No scuba diving during beach open hours or events

Thank you for following beach rules to ensure a safe and pleasant experience for patrons and staff. Please note, failure to follow the rules will result in loss of beach access without refund.
