COMO Events and Fundraising

Green and Wellness Fair

Businesses, non-profits, and educational groups will be on hand with brochures on how to live GREEN, wellness topics, and other helpful resources for attendees. The Fair is run in conjunction with the Stonington Farmer’s Market to create a morning of awareness in our environmental and health issues. The Fair takes place the second Saturday in April and there are always opportunities for new vendors. Applications are accepted during January and a nominal fee is charged for the space. This event is free and open to the public.

Stonington's Got Talent          COMO’s Annual Talent Show

The annual talent show has added a new twist this year. Three “celebrity judges” will offer their opinions on each adult act that takes the stage. The children’s acts will still be the hit of the show but won’t it be fun to hear a judges opinion when an adult act goes terribly wrong. We think so too! So come join us for our annual talent show and enjoy the show. Stonington’s Got Talent takes place during the last few weeks of May.

The COMO Jumble

This new event held in the spring is a fundraiser where you get to make money too.  Join us on the COMO grounds for “flea market” style event.  Great community fun where everyone gets to be the buyer and the seller.  Something for everyone from nautical gear, furniture, clothing, books, and more.  Take a table, clean out your stuff, and make money for yourself and the COMO!

Stonington Village Fair

This annual tradition takes place the first Saturday in August every year. Held on Wadawanuck Square (the library green) right in the heart of the Stonington Borough from 10:00-3:00 p.m. Throughout the day you will find endless things to do including: craft vendors, book sale, Treasures and Trifles table, entertainment, garden club flower sale, kids games and rides, food from local restaurants, and the famous soup kitchen. This is a true community event that serves as a fundraiser for the COMO!

Under the Big Top

Held on the grounds of the Thrift Shop field this is a must visit event. Whether you are looking for a brush with nostalgia----- or a big bargain-----the place to find it is at the COMO’s annual “Under the Big Top Sale”.   You will find the best “stuff” in one area where rows are stocked with great finds and around every corner is a buyer’s bonanza. Takes place on the second Saturday in September from 10:00-2:00. Rain or shine.

Stars Over Stonington

This is a fairly new tradition at the COMO. It was started in 2008 as our main fundraiser presented by the Board of Governors the last Friday in September. Held off site from the COMO at a facility where the community comes together to enjoy gourmet food, great entertainment, and support the COMO. The evening consists of a silent and live auction as well as the Stars over Stonington award. The award is given to community members or groups that have made a major contribution to the community. Save the dates are mailed at the end of May so that you can mark this on the calendar this is one event you don’t want to miss!
