COMO Kids Before and After School Programs

COMO Kids is a before and after school enrichment program located at Deans Mill and West Wine/West Broad Street Schools. Students, ages 5-10, who attend before school COMO kids enjoy arts and crafts, Lego Building, Free play outside or group gym games with friends. In the afternoon students enjoy the same activities as the morning. In addition they have scheduled homework or silent sustained reading time, and Occasional STEAM projects with some of their favorite COMO teachers. A healthy snack is provided daily for students who attend COMO Kids in the afternoon. COMO Kids serves as an opportunity for parents to free up their schedules a bit and allows students to have fun mornings and afternoons, learning, playing, and creating memories with their friends and teachers.

In the morning, drop off your child as early as 7 a.m., and they will have a great morning with our caring and qualified staff. Afternoon care runs until 6 p.m. and includes homework time, a nutritious snack served with 100% juice or water, gym games or outside play, and special seasonal projects! The COMO has also partnered with the Stonington Free Library to incorporate read aloud sessions with Maris Frey, the children and teen librarian. Throughout the year, COMO Kids get familiarized with the COMO campus, even though they are based off-site! Questions? Call us at 860.535.2476

Testimonial

"My two children, now a Stonington High School freshman and a seventh grader at Mystic Middle School, have been enrolled in programs at the COMO beginning with Kinderfun and Summer Camp, through before and after care at both the COMO and Deans Mill School, onto IMPACT in middle school, and both will be part of the Junior Leadership Program this summer. The COMO staff is the one thing that keeps us coming back to the COMO year after year. On some days, my kids have spent more time with their COMO teachers than with me, and it’s crucial for me to know that my children are with qualified individuals that foster a safe environment while still managing to make it fun! There have been times my kids have complained when I pick them up because they are having such a good time and don’t want to leave! The COMO is not your average daycare – they seek out and hire talented, caring people. As a working parent, I don’t know what I would have done without the COMO over the past ten years. Thank you!" -Merilee Paoloni, March 2016
