Youth Introduction to 3D Printing and Computer-Aided Design

(Ages 10-14)

This hands-on five week program introduces students to the exciting world of 3D printing. Students will learn how 3D printers work, the basics of safety, operation and maintenance. Along with learning the 3D printing process, students will also learn how to design models for 3D printing using computer-aided design (CAD) programs. Each student will have access to their own 3D printer to use during the class. Enrollment limited to eight students.

Open Press Project

(Ages 10-14)

The Open Press Project is the first 3D printed etching press (https://openpressproject.com). During this two-part weekend class, students will spend one day printing the parts to their press. The second class will focus on using the press and students will print their own etchings, dry-points or engravings. Materials are included in registration price. All students will leave the class with their own 3D printed DIY press. Enrollment limited to eight students.

3D Printing Fun!

(Ages 8-12)

During this one-day class, students will each have access to their own 3D printer. Students will learn the basics of CAD (computer-aided design) modeling specific to their age range and then design and create their own open container such as a vase, pencil cup or box. Materials are included in registration price. All students in the class will leave with their own 3D printed container. Enrollment limited to eight students.

Please note: Some 3D prints may take longer than others. In the case that the print hasn't finished during the class, the teacher will finish the print for you and notify you within the week for pick up.
