About the Event:

The Stonington Village Fair is a regional time-honored tradition drawing thousands annually. The first Village Fair was held on August 14th, 1952 to commemorate the 1814 Battle of Stonington. With the assistance of over 100 volunteers, this popular event brings together community and draws thousands, local and tourist alike, for a fun filled day of games, music, food and crafters.

Stonington Village Fair Pie Bake-Off

Dust off your cookbooks and preheat your oven - it's pie time! After quickly becoming a staple of Village Fair, the annual pie bake-off is back for the third year in a row. Our discerning judges, Walter Houlihan of Water Street Cafe and Adam Young of Sift Bake Shop, will determine which pies make the cut. This bake-off is open to amateur bakers, and will be judged on taste, texture and appearance.

Think you have a blue ribbon pie? Enter your pie online or submit an application to the COMO front office, Monday through Friday 9am - 5pm.

Bake-Off Rules:

- All entries must be made from scratch. No premade crust, filling or box ingredients are allowed.

- All pies must be delivered in a disposable or non-returnable plate and loosely covered.

- Pies can be any kind of single or double crust fruit pies. No pies that require refrigeration will be accepted (dairy, meat, or cream pies)

- No need to share all of Grandma’s recipe… We just need an ingredient list typed and submitted with application.

- Individuals can submit as many entries as they choose (minimum of two pies provided per entry). Each entry requires a $10.00 entry fee.

Be a part of this year's Annual Village Fair and volunteer! Shifts are available on both Friday, August 4 for set-up and on Saturday, August 5 at the actual fair. Volunteer opportunities include assisting in Treasures and Trifles, at the prize table, helping at concessions and more! Please register for volunteer shifts ahead of the fair.
