Please note all new students taking a full class must pay a $30 materials fee. Returning students, who have taken a COMO pottery class within the previous six months, have the option of waiving the materials fee if they have left over clay purchased through the COMO.

A COMO Introduction to Pottery course is required as a prerequisite to the intermediate and advanced courses unless the COMO Pottery Studio Manager approves ability level.

Introduction

This course is an excellent introduction for new students or those who want to return to pottery fundamentals after time away. Students will learn basic hand-building methods: pinch pots, coil, and slab techniques. Later, students will be introduced to the potter's wheel and the essentials of wheel-throwing. At the end of the session, learn how to glaze and finish your pieces.
