The Stonington Community Center offers art programs designed for adults looking to explore their creativity, enhance their skills, and connect with fellow art enthusiasts. Our adult art classes are currently focused on the art and design possibilities of sewing! Classes cater to all levels, from beginners to advanced sewers, and provide a supportive environment to foster artistic growth.

  Fashion ~ Passion ~ Thrifty ~ Imagination~ Guided sewing instruction to create your own unique piece, making a pattern from something you already adore! Bring your favorite item, where you will have the opportunity to create your own pattern and begin to sew your vision. Experience the simplicity and heart of turning vision into reality. A thrifty approach to creative design! This magical world of sewing fun will take place inside COMO Thrift. Items within the shop will also be available to purchase. Celebrate the feeling of friendship and imagination when we create together!

  Nothing says Christmas like handmade… Sew yourself a merry heart this season when you learn to create Victorian ornaments! Hands on instruction using sewing machines and supplies provided to create your own unique holiday design. Non-breakable / kid and pet-friendly! Turn your ornament into a special memory by bringing your own special memory/scraps/fabric pieces. Experience the simplicity and joy of turning vision into reality. A thrifty approach to creative design with opportunity to upcycle selected items from our Thrift Shop. This magical world of sewing fun will take place inside COMO Thrift. Items within the shop will also be available to purchase. Celebrate the feeling of friendship and imagination when we create together!
