The Stonington Community Center offers art programs designed for adults looking to explore their creativity, enhance their skills, and connect with fellow art enthusiasts. Our adult art classes are currently focused on the art and design possibilities of sewing! Classes cater to all levels, from beginners to advanced sewers, and provide a supportive environment to foster artistic growth.

SEW FUN! WORKSHOPS [Ages 21+]
Thursdays, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
August 6Bring your passion to create something new! Beginners are encouraged to come to this workshop series. Sign up for one or more days. Your first project will include a choice of a simple design or bring a project you have in mind to design. Creative exploration and interests come to life when we experience the simplicity and heart of turning vision into reality. A thrifty approach to creative design with opportunity to upcycle selected items from our Thrift Shop. This magical world of sewing fun takes place inside COMO Thrift. Items within the shop are also available to purchase. Celebrate the joy of family, friendship and imagination when we create together!

Sewing made easy and all skill levels are welcome! In this workshop, you will have the chance to learn to sew even if you have never sewed before – or maybe rekindle an interest from long ago. Bring an idea or just come as you are. ALL the tools you need (fabric, thread, access to a sewing machine) is included and your finished product is yours to keep 🙂 We will have fun and create together. In the world of sewing, anything is possible!
