Youth Pottery

• YOUTH POTTERY WITH EMMA [Ages 9-15]
  Wednesdays, 4-5:30 pm

  April 1 – 29 (No class April 15)

  In this class we will explore throwing on the wheel, handbuilding and glazing as you learn and practice creating with clay. This class is open to all levels of experience and projects can be catered to individuals needs and hopes. Should the COMO need to reschedule a class, a makeup class will be held the week after the last scheduled class during the same time period. Taught by Emma Pons.

• PRIVATE POTTERY LESSONS [All Ages]
  Private lessons are 120-minute, one-on-one pottery lessons available for beginner to advanced potters. Students can work on a variety of specific projects with instructor. Group lessons are the same base fee with an additional $75 per person to account for clay.

• REUSABLE “STICKY NOTE” FRIDGE TO-DO BOARD
  Ages 12+, Saturday, January 10, 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

  New year = new resolutions and daily goals! Join us in the COMO pottery studio to make your own reusable sticky note board to hang on your wall or stick to your fridge. Templates and examples will be provided, but each piece can be customized to suit how you like to make lists the most.

  Learn how to roll out the perfect slab of clay with instructor Emma Pons, then receive a guided demo on turning a simple rectangle of clay into the neatest to-do list that will actually get you excited to cross off your goals/chores- or even a grocery list! Pieces will then be fired and glazed by the instructor to be picked up 2-4 weeks after the workshop.

  Participants at the end of the session will have one “to-do” board that can be used with dry erase markers to be picked up 2-4 weeks after the workshop.

• SUPER BOWLS (CHIP & DIP BOWLS)
  Ages 16+, Sunday, January 25, 12-2:30 p.m.

  Getting excited for the Super Bowl? Football fans and chip enjoyers are all welcome in our Chip and Dip Bowl workshop in the COMO Pottery Studio! Recieve a guided demo by instructor Emma Pons on forming your own bowl out of draped slabs and attaching clay together to form your own bowl for your favorite chip and dip combo. Pick a single glaze or custom paint your chip and dip bowl to make it a truly custom piece of functional art! Pieces will then be fired and glazed by the instructor to be picked up 2-4 weeks after the workshop.

• LOVE LETTER ENVELOPES
  Ages 12+, Saturday, January 31, 4-6 p.m.

  Create a lovely clay envelope that is as beautiful and long lasting as the love notes you hope to store to read again and again! Love deserves to be celebrated and what better way is there than to display them in a handmade clay envelope?! Join instructor Emma Pons in the COMO pottery studio as she walks you through rolling out clay and using templates to form the perfect place to store paper mementos like letters and ticket stubs (or perhaps a cuter space to place your spam mail) with all of the tools you need to customize your envelope to be as special as the letters you keep. Participants will have the choice of adding the ability to hang their piece on the wall or make the envelope to sit on any surface. Pieces will then be fired and glazed by the instructor to be picked up 2-4 weeks after the workshop.

  Participants at the end of the session will have one custom clay envelope and letter to be picked up 2-4 weeks after the workshop.

• PAL-ENTINE’S DAY CHARM MAKING WORKSHOP
  Ages 12+, Friday, February 13, 6-8 p.m.

  Gather your favorite gals and pals for an evening of charm making in the COMO pottery studio! Make up to five charms out of clay just for you or to share with your friends to add to any necklace, bag, or bracelet for an extra pop of whimsy! Pieces will then be fired and glazed by the instructor to be picked up 2-4 weeks after the workshop. Lobster clasps will be attached to all charms by the instructor after firing.

  Participants at the end of the session will have one custom clay envelope and letter to be picked up 2-4 weeks after the workshop.

• BUTTER DISHES WORKSHOP
  Ages 16+, Saturday, March 21, 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
  
  Create a custom butter dish to keep your butter soft and spreadable with an artsy flair. Learn how to turn slabs of clay into handmade butter dishes to keep your butter soft and protected on your counter. Instructor Emma Pons will teach you how to use a slab roller and attach pieces of clay for any full or half stick butter dish. Pieces will then be fired and glazed by the instructor to be picked up 2-4 weeks after the workshop.

• TRAVEL CUPS WORKSHOP
  Ages 16+, Saturday, April 18, 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

  Take your coffee or other beverages on the go with your own custom travel cup in this COMO Pottery workshop! Instructor Emma Pons will lead you through forming a custom travel cup that fits your style and personality. Make a travel cup as cool as the person carrying it (you!) Individuals will be making a slab-build travel cup that can to custom glazed and decorated to add a flair of whimsy. Pieces will then be fired and glazed by the instructor to be picked up 2-4 weeks after the workshop.

• PLANTER LABELS WORKSHOP
  Ages 16+, Sunday, April 26, 12 – 2 p.m.
  

  April showers bring May flowers, so come join us in the COMO pottery studio to make your own set of planter label spikes! Roll out slabs and cut the perfect planter spikes to help you identify your starters with instructor Emma Pons. Individuals will be able to make 5 labels, each stamped with the plant name of your choice. Pieces will then be fired and glazed by the instructor to be picked up 2-4 weeks after the workshop.

• MOTHER’S DAY PLANTER WORKSHOP
  Ages 16+, Sunday, May 10, 12 – 2 p.m.

  Spend your Mother’s Day in the COMO pottery studio with your child to collaborate on a sentimental planter made together for future plants to grow. Make a custom planter just for mom, with the love and creativeness of your child! Individuals and their child will work together to handbuild one 6x6in planter. Each planter can be custom designed and glazed from our fun collection of colors.

  *Each ticket is for a mother figure and “child” age 5+*

  Pieces will then be fired and glazed by the instructor to be picked up 2-4 weeks after the workshop.

• PAINT PALETTES WORKSHOP
  Ages 16+, Sunday, June 14, 12 – 2 p.m.

  Forget boring palettes and make a custom paint palette as creative as you and your art! Spend a creative Sunday afternoon at the COMO pottery studio with instructor Emma Pons to make your own custom paint palette. Individuals will make one paint palette in the shape and style of their choosing. Pieces will then be fired and glazed by the instructor to be picked up 2-4 weeks after the workshop.

• CREATURE PENCIL HOLDERS WORKSHOP
  Ages 7-15, Sunday, August 23, 12 – 2:30 p.m.

  Get ready for the school year with silly creature cups to hold all of your student’s pens and pencils so they are never lost when it is homework time! Join instructor Emma Pons to celebrate the end of summer by making a whimsical creature cup to spark excitement for the upcoming school year. Students will learn how to transform a simple cylinder pencil holder into a fun creature that is sure to bring a smile to their face- even when doing homework! Pieces will then be fired and glazed by the instructor to be picked up 2-4 weeks after the workshop.

COMO Kids After Care Discount: Receive a 10% discount for all COMO after school enrichment programs if the desired program falls on a day in which they are simultaneously enrolled in COMO Kids using the code “ADDPROGRAM10” when registering. Only applies to program fees.

Sibling Discount: Registrants receive 10% off the second sibling if both children are enrolled in the same enrichment program and session at the same time. Use the code ADDSIBLING10 when registering. Applies to additional registrations only (not applicable to first child’s registration).

No refunds or credits will be issued for changes or cancellations within 7 days of the program start. Outside of 7 days, enrichment program fees are eligible to receive COMO credit less a 20% administrative fee. COMO credits will be shown on your online member account and expire a year after they are issued. If the program has a waitlist and the space can be filled immediately, a refund less a 20% administrative fee can be processed. If COMO cancels a program, refunds will be provided. Make-up dates may be provided at the instructors’ discretion if a class is canceled.
