A Message from the Executive Director

Do you still recall your childhood memories of the COMO?  Perhaps the Saturday night dances, the bowling lanes in the basement, swimming lessons at the Point?  These memorable childhood experiences are part of growing up in a community center where old fashioned fun and traditional family values make the rewards of their success a reality.

Here at the COMO we are proud to continue the tradition of family and community.  Those Saturday night dances and the swimming lessons at the Point may be a wonderful part of your childhood, but the gathering of friends and families for a weekend soccer game, the Village Fair, swimming at the point, preschool and being together at the COMO are true and lasting memories that are now a time honored tradition that spans generations.

Thanks to our members, friends and supporters, the COMO remains a strong, vibrant organization dedicated to family and friends that continues even in these uncertain economic times.

Thank you for your continued support of the COMO through donations to the Thrift Shop, volunteering at our Village Fair, participating in our Annual Appeal and for joining us at “Stars over Stonington” for a wonderful evening of good company and community support.  Many funds were raised for the COMO and to a scholarship fund that will let area children attend programs without being turned away due to finances.

And a special thank you for the dedication of our tireless staff who work diligently to provide affordable programs for youth and adults.

Our wish for you in 2009 is that our COMO families create their own special memories.  May you and your family enjoy 2009 here at the COMO.

Sincerely,

Jim Truscio

Executive Director
